Ductless Mini‑Split Advantages
For businesses that have rooms or zones with different temperature needs, we highly recommend using a ductless mini-split cooling system.
With a ductless mini-split, air doesn’t have to travel from a heater or handling unit in another part of the building. This prevents a greater loss of radiant energy for a more energy-efficient solution.
More efficient than a window air conditioner and less invasive than installing new ductwork, mini-splits incorporate a small, wall-mounted or ceiling-recessed indoor unit connected to an outdoor compressor/condenser unit. Depending on the model and your building’s needs, one outdoor unit can control the temperature for several separate indoor zones. Some models even feature built-in dehumidifiers.
A ductless mini-split system may be the solution for:
- Buildings with separate office and warehouse spaces
- Older buildings without existing ductwork
- Building additions
- Settings requiring separate temperature control systems
Our Ductless Installation Process
Indoor and outdoor units are connected via a conduit that contains the power supply and condensation drain line. Installing the conduit typically involves drilling a three-inch hole through the wall, which is then insulated and weatherproofed.
From there, the units are installed in their respective locations. Each style has its own benefits. Recessed ceiling units take up no room space at all. Horizontal wall mounted units protrude slightly but are low-profile enough to make little to no impact on the room.
